The Palmela region, also famous for its cheese, has the right soil and climate conditions for the production of a wide range of wines. Castelão is the most traditional red grape variety and the white grapes include Fernão Pires and Moscatel, with which Moscatel de Setúbal – a typical dessert wine of the region – is made.
